In 2007, the Italian Mammal Society was appointed to contribute to the creation of the newest edition of the Italian Red List, produced by Federparchi, the Italian IUCN Commitee and the Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare. The encessary updates were drafted by Carlo Rondinini, Alessia Battistoni, Valentina Peronace and Corrado Teofili, following the IUCN guidelines.
The Italian Mammal Society identified, for each systematic group, an internal spokesperson to coordinate and verify the information and contributions offered by other members.
